Succession Watches: Every Character's Watch, and What It Says
Succession Watches: Every Character's Watch, and What It Says
Succession turned watches into character study. Kendall's Patek Philippe Nautilus and Richard Mille, Tom's slide from Cartier to Audemars Piguet, and Greg's Rolex GMT-Master II all say something about who these people are. This guide goes character by character, labels how well each watch is documented, and corrects the myths that circulate online.
The short answer
The watches were chosen by the show's prop department (prop master Monica Jacobs), not the costume designer, with Hodinkee 's Danny Milton consulting on season 4. The best-documented are Kendall's Richard Mille RM 67-01 and Nautilus 5711/1A , Tom's Cartier Santos , and Greg's Rolex Submariner and GMT-Master II . Most high-end watches on screen are reportedly replicas, and Logan's famous Patek was never shown, so “worn” here really means “depicted.”

How we label the evidence
Confirmed means a costume designer, prop department, the brand or the show itself said so, or multiple reputable outlets agree and cite a source. Reported means a single reputable outlet reports it. We leave out fan speculation, and where sources disagree we say so. All prices are in US dollars and are indicative; check current listings before buying.
Logan Roy (Brian Cox)
Logan is the show's lesson in wealth that does not need to announce itself. The most quoted watch line belongs to someone else: Tom gives him a Patek Philippe in the pilot, saying every time you look at it “it tells you exactly how rich you are.” Logan dismisses it.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Patek Philippe (gift from Tom; model never shown) | Not identified | Confirmed | S1E1 “Celebration”: the box is opened at Logan's birthday softball game, but the camera never shows the watch | — |
| Breguet (brand named by the prop master) | Not identified | Confirmed | Monica Jacobs has said Logan wears Breguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Carl F. Bucherer | — |
| Jaeger-LeCoultre (brand named by the prop master) | Not identified | Confirmed | As above | — |
| Carl F. Bucherer (brand named by the prop master) | Not identified | Confirmed | As above | — |
In season 4 Logan wears a white-gold dress watch with a tourbillon window at six o'clock. Boss Hunting could not match it, and several candidates were ruled out, so we do not name a model.
Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong)
Kendall's watches track his search for an identity. Early seasons are Vacheron Constantin; the Nautilus arrives at his lowest points; and in season 4 he wears a Richard Mille, which is the opposite of quiet luxury.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat | RM 67-01 | Confirmed | Season 4, worn for more than half the season. Jeremy Strong asked for a Richard Mille and chose this one; it is one of the few real watches on set | ~$200,000–$285,000 pre-owned asks (retail est. ~$120,000, unverified) |
| Patek Philippe Nautilus | 5711/1A | Confirmed | Seen as he hugs his children. Discontinued in 2021 | ~$134,000 pre-owned (Loupe, April 2026); $34,890 retail at discontinuation |
| Vacheron Constantin Harmony Mono-Pusher Chronograph | 5300S (per dealers) | Confirmed | The season 1 rap scene and the season 3 finale. A 260-piece limited edition on the in-house calibre 3300 | ~$35,000–$38,000 pre-owned (original retail $67,100, 2017) |
| Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle World Time | 86060 (per dealers) | Confirmed | Early seasons. Time+Tide reads the world-time function as suiting a global media heir | ~$21,000–$35,000 pre-owned asks |
Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin)
Roman's watches are the least showy of the siblings: a plain steel Rolex for most of the series, then a blue-dial IWC pilot's watch in season 4. The prop master has described the IWC as Roman spreading his wings.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex Datejust (steel, Oyster bracelet) | 41mm 126300 per one source; others differ | Confirmed | Most of the series. Sources disagree on the exact reference and size, so we confirm the model family only | ~$9,300–$11,800 pre-owned (126300) |
| IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XX, blue dial | IW328203 (40mm) per Boss Hunting; a 36mm IW324008 per others | Confirmed | Season 4. Sources conflict on size and reference | $5,800 retail listing; $4,200–$4,800 pre-owned |
A single fashion blog also claims an IWC Portofino Chronograph. We could not verify it, so it is not listed.
Siobhan “Shiv” Roy (Sarah Snook)
Shiv wears the Cartier Panthère, a small, elegant quartz watch that swaps between metals. Writers read it as a choice made by someone who knows exactly who she is, until season 4 moves her to a sportier Chopard.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cartier Panthère (yellow metal and steel versions) | Medium or small case | Confirmed | Throughout the series | $6,250 (medium steel, Watches of Switzerland) |
| Chopard Happy Sport (steel, automatic) | 278236-3005 per Swiss Watch Expo | Reported | Season 4, replacing the Cartier | $10,300–$12,100 retail listing |
| Cartier Pasha (rose gold) | W3019351 per Swiss Watch Expo | Reported | Single source | — |
Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen)
Tom's watches chart his rise. He starts in a Panerai and early-season Cartier, switches to a Cartier Santos, and in the final season to a steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, a watch that signals independence after he sides with Logan.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Panerai Luminor (a replica prop) | Replica of Luminor Power Reserve ref. 00090 | Confirmed | S1E1, on his wrist during the Patek gift scene. The prop sold at Heritage Auctions in January 2024 | Replica sold for $4,500 |
| Cartier Ballon Bleu | Not identified | Reported | Early seasons. Time+Tide says it was allegedly a fake | — |
| Cartier Santos (steel) | Not stated | Confirmed | From season 3, with quick-change strap | $8,400 (medium) / $9,200 (large), Cartier US |
| Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph (41mm, steel) | 26331ST per Wrist Enthusiast; dial reports conflict | Confirmed | Season 4, replacing the Cartier. Sources disagree on blue versus black dial, so we confirm the model only | ~$46,950–$51,358 pre-owned asks |
Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun)
Greg's watches follow his climb from tagalong to someone with his own money. He begins in a $600 Shinola, tries to buy a Submariner, and ends in a Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi.” Hodinkee's consultant has described the GMT as Greg possibly levelling up.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shinola Runwell 41mm (quartz, gold PVD) | Runwell 41 | Confirmed | S2E10 “This Is Not for Tears.” It also sold at Heritage Auctions | ~$875 at auction; ~$600 new |
| Rolex Submariner (black dial) | 124060 per Boss Hunting; 116610 per Swiss Watch Expo | Confirmed | Season 3 limo scene: a dealer asks $40,000 for it, and the watch is reportedly a fake that does not run | ~$12,500–$13,500 pre-owned |
| Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” on Jubilee bracelet | 126710BLRO per Boss Hunting | Confirmed | Season 4. Danny Milton proposed it, and the production chose it immediately | ~$20,900–$27,000 asks; reported discontinued in 2026 |
| IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph (blue sunray dial) | IW388102 or IW378004 (sources conflict) | Reported | Barely seen in the final season | $12,800 (Boss Hunting, May 2023) |
Stewy Hosseini (Arian Moayed)
Stewy, the investor who plays the Roys against each other, wears a grand complication in white gold: a perpetual calendar.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar (white gold, 44.2mm) | IW503401 | Reported | Season 4. Reported by Boss Hunting only. A retailer blog claims a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso instead, which we treat as unreliable | $67,600 (Boss Hunting, May 2023) |
Karl Muller (David Rasche)
Karl, the sleek head of ATN's rival, wears a classic Cartier dress watch.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where you see it | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cartier Tank Louis Cartier (yellow gold, black dial) | Not stated | Reported | Season 4. Reported by Boss Hunting only | $20,500 (Boss Hunting, May 2023) |
Quiet luxury, props and replicas: how to read the watches
Two things shape how to read all of this. First, who chose the watches : they fall under the prop master's remit, and Hodinkee's Danny Milton consulted on season 4, writing character profiles and proposing watches such as the Daytona and GMT that Greg might wear. Costume designer Michelle Matland has discussed clothing, not watches, in the interviews we found.
Second, most of these watches are reportedly replicas , which is standard practice on television. Kendall's Richard Mille is one of the few real pieces. So “worn” means depicted, and the story matters more than the reference number. Time+Tide's September 2021 piece called the show's watches a masterclass in “stealth wealth,” and the Richard Mille is the exception that proves the rule.
No reputable outlet we found has identified a watch for Gerri, Marcia, Connor, Frank or Willa . For Lukas Matsson, one retailer-style summary lists a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris, but we could not verify it, and Time+Tide noted in 2021 that his season 3 watch was unidentified. In the same way, Alexander Skarsgård's IWC chronograph is his own personal watch, not the show's.
Get the look for less
You can borrow the idea without the six-figure price. These are the nearest real-world equivalents of the watches discussed above, with indicative US prices. The picks are editorial, not from the show.
| Watch | Why it fits | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|
| Shinola Runwell 41mm | Greg's quartz first watch | ~$600 new |
| IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XX | Roman's blue-dial pilot's watch | $4,200–$5,800 |
| Cartier Santos (medium) | Tom's mid-series watch | $8,400 |
| Rolex Datejust 41 | Roman's everyday Rolex | ~$9,300–$11,800 pre-owned |
Myths and mix-ups, corrected
- “The $4,500 Succession watch sold at auction was Logan's Patek.” No. It was the replica Panerai Luminor from Tom's wrist in the pilot, sold at Heritage Auctions in January 2024. The Patek was never shown on screen.
- “Logan wears a Nautilus 5711.” The steel Nautilus 5711/1A is Kendall's. Logan's Patek is only ever a gift in a box.
- “Greg's Submariner cost $40,000.” A dealer asks $40,000 on screen, and the watch is reportedly a fake that does not work.
- “The costume designer picked the watches.” The prop department did, with Hodinkee's Danny Milton consulting on season 4.
- “GQ or Esquire asked for the Richard Mille.” Jeremy Strong requested it himself, according to reporting in the Hollywood Reporter.
- “Skarsgård's Matsson wore his IWC Pilot's Chronograph.” That is the actor's personal watch. The show's watch was not identified at the time.
- “Every watch on the show is real.” Most high-end watches are reportedly replicas; the Richard Mille is a rare real exception.
