Time on the Move | Last updated November 4, 2026 | Policy

Time on the Move is an independent watch reference site. Some pages contain links to retailers and marketplaces. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains how that works and what we do to keep our recommendations independent.

Where affiliate links appear

Affiliate links may appear in our buying guides, in the Watch Finder quiz results, and in “where to buy” sections next to a recommended watch. We do not use affiliate links inside our watch history articles, which are written to explain a brand or model, not to sell it.

Which programmes we use

We may take part in affiliate programmes offered by retailers and marketplaces, including Amazon Associates, the eBay Partner Network, and networks such as Awin and CJ Affiliate that run programmes for watch retailers. The list of programmes we use can change, and not every retailer we link to pays us. We may also link to a retailer simply because it is a reasonable place to look, with no payment involved.

How we keep recommendations independent

  • Ranking comes first. In the Watch Finder, the three recommendations are calculated from your answers and our own research before any retailer link is added. Retailer links never change which watches are shown or in what order.
  • No pay-to-be-included. Brands and retailers cannot pay to appear in our guides or quiz results.
  • We recommend watches that earn us nothing. Many of the watches we cover, such as Rolex, Tudor, Omega and Patek Philippe, come from brands that run no affiliate programme, and we recommend and discuss them on the same terms as everything else.
  • Evidence labels. Facts are labelled by how well they are sourced, and we say when something is uncertain, whether or not a link exists nearby.

How we mark affiliate links

Every affiliate link on the site carries the HTML attributes rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" , which tell search engines that the link is commercial. We place a short disclosure near affiliate links where practical, and this page covers the whole site.

Prices and availability

Prices on our pages are approximate US figures checked on the date shown, and they change. A retailer's own page is always the final word on price, stock and condition. If you buy pre-owned, ask about service history, papers and the returns policy before you pay.

Sponsored content and review samples

As of the date at the top of this page, none of our content is sponsored. We are open to sponsored content and to accepting review samples or gifts in future, but only on terms that protect editorial independence. If we do:

  • Sponsored posts will be labelled Sponsored at the top of the page, with the sponsor named, and their links will carry rel="sponsored nofollow" .
  • A watch or product we are given for review will be identified as a gift or loan in the article, near the start.
  • The sponsor or brand does not get to approve, edit or veto our conclusions, and there is no promise of a positive review. We write the same honest assessment we would write without the gift, including the drawbacks.
  • Sponsored or gifted coverage is kept out of the Watch Finder ranking, which is calculated only from your answers and our own research.

Questions

If you have a question about this policy, email timeonthemove91@gmail.com or see our contact page. We update this page whenever the way we use affiliate links, sponsorship or gifts changes.
