About Time on the Move

Time on the Move | Last updated November 4, 2026 | About

Time on the Move is an independent English-language reference for people who love watches and for people buying one for the first time. We publish researched brand and model histories, buying guides by budget and use, comparisons, and news on releases and auctions.

What we publish

  • Watch history: brand and model histories in the Horological History library.
  • Buying guides: budget guides, guides to the watches worn by public figures and on screen, and the Watch Finder quiz.
  • News: new releases, auctions and market developments, always linked to the history that explains them.
  • Comparisons: side-by-side analysis of models people cross-shop.

How we research and label what we say

Every page separates what is confirmed from what is not. We label claims Confirmed (two or more independent sources, or a primary source), Reported (one source), Community (forum or collector consensus) or Uncertain (sources conflict or none was found), and we state the conflict instead of choosing silently. Prices are in US dollars and carry the date they were checked. When we find an error we correct it on the page.

Images

We use photographs from Wikimedia Commons under their stated Creative Commons licences, credited under each image. We do not use press images, film or television stills, or photographs of people.

Who writes it

Every article is written, edited and fact-checked by the site's editor, Zach Charles, which is a pen name. AI tools assist with research, fact-checking, drafting and publishing to the website. Nothing is published until the editor has reviewed and approved it, and the editor is responsible for what appears on the site.

Sources are manufacturer documentation, press releases, auction records, archival material and reputable watch publications, with specifications cross-checked against more than one source where possible. Corrections are handled as described on the contact page.

Independence and money

The site earns money from affiliate links in some buying guides and in the quiz results. They never change what we recommend. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
