Breitling Navitimer B09 Chronograph 41 and B02 Cosmonaute Join the Core Range
The Breitling Navitimer B09 Chronograph 41 and the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute have moved into Breitling's permanent collection, with outlets reporting the news on October 22, 2026. Both are 41mm steel, hand-wound column-wheel chronographs with about 70 hours of power reserve. The B09 starts at US$7,900 on a strap and the 24-hour Cosmonaute at US$10,600 , according to Breitling's US pages. Until now Breitling had kept the B09 calibre for limited and commemorative editions, so neither watch carries an edition limit.

Breitling Navitimer B09 Chronograph 41: what is new
The B09 is a manual-winding chronograph that Breitling had so far used in limited and commemorative runs. Hi Consumption says September's 500-piece Miles Davis edition used the same calibre, while The 1916 Company says only that it arrived earlier in the year, so we treat the timing as unconfirmed. The core B09 costs US$1,000 less than that edition, Hi Consumption reports.
Breitling's own page for the reference AB0950211B1X1 confirms a hand-wound Manufacture B09, about 70 hours of reserve, a 41mm case 13mm thick, 30m water resistance and a brown strap with a folding clasp, at US$7,900 excluding sales tax. It lists the case as housing a black or blue dial with white subdials. Luxe.digital gives the blue strap version as AB0950211C1X1.
On availability, Hi Consumption says both watches are available now through Breitling and its retailers. Breitling's own pages label them "New" but show no stock status, only a "Book an appointment" option, and no outlet we read gives a shipping date. Buyers should confirm stock with an authorised retailer before planning around a delivery.
Retailers and outlets add detail we could not check on Breitling's page: a 28,800 vph beat, COSC certification, a calibre 6.73mm thick and a gold Twin Jet logo. Fratello and Hi Consumption date that logo on Navitimer dials to 1965, while The 1916 Company says the mid-1960s. The B09 has no date, which Hi Consumption ties to the 1960s Navitimers worn by Jim Clark and Graham Hill.
Navitimer B02 Cosmonaute: the 24-hour dial
The Cosmonaute shares the B09's case and architecture. Hi Consumption says the B02 is a hand-wound, COSC-certified column-wheel chronograph that Breitling uses in nothing else, and luxe.digital gives its thickness as 6.83mm. Its 24-hour dial and hour hand add a date at 6 o'clock. Breitling's page for AB0230211B1X1 confirms the hand-wound B02, about 70 hours of reserve and US$10,600 on a brown strap, with the bracelet at US$11,000 per the other outlets.
The dial colour is where sources disagree. Fratello, Hi Consumption and luxe.digital describe a black dial with white counters. The 1916 Company says both models come in black or blue. Breitling's page does not state a colour, so we report black and flag the discrepancy.
The change from earlier Cosmonaute releases is the removal of the cap. Breitling's own page for a 2022 Cosmonaute reference (PB02301A1B1A1) says it was limited to 362 pieces, and luxe.digital reports that the previous limits on runs and quantities no longer apply to the new watches.
Cosmonaute history: Scott Carpenter and Aurora 7
The 1916 Company says Scott Carpenter asked Breitling in 1961 for a Navitimer with a 24-hour dial, and that he received it five days before his Mercury-Atlas 7 flight. Fratello and luxe.digital date the flight to May 24, 1962, with Carpenter wearing the watch into orbit. Breitling bills it, per Hi Consumption, as the first Swiss wristwatch in space; we have not seen that wording on a Breitling page we could open.
collectSPACE separately states that Carpenter became the first person to wear a Breitling into space in May 1962, and that Breitling watches have since flown on Mir, the Space Shuttle fleet and Soyuz and SpaceX Dragon flights to the International Space Station. The 1916 Company adds that the original was damaged by water after the capsule landed about 250 miles from its target, and that the Cosmonaute went on sale in late 1962. Those details come from that one retailer's article, so treat them as attributed rather than confirmed. A 24-hour display suits orbital flight because it separates day from night on the dial; luxe.digital makes the same point about tracking time beyond the day-night cycle.
Cosmonaute and Artemis II: two separate watches
On April 13, 2026, collectSPACE reported that Breitling had confirmed the Artemis II crew wore a previously unseen Navitimer Cosmonaute for part of their 10-day mission. Commander Reid Wiseman said the Breitling ran on mission elapsed time and that the 24-hour face was helpful. The crew also wore NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster X-33 watches, per collectSPACE; Gear Patrol instead mentions Speedmaster Moonwatches, so the Omega model is disputed.
Breitling then sold the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II, reference AB02307A1C1P1, limited to 450 pieces at US$11,900 excluding sales tax. Breitling's page describes a galaxy-blue meteorite dial, a blue alligator strap and an open caseback with the mission patch. That is a different watch from the core Cosmonaute announced now, which has no edition limit.
Sources do not agree on how many crew members wore the Cosmonaute. collectSPACE and Gear Patrol refer to the crew generally, and we found no confirmed head count. Our Artemis II astronaut watches guide covers the full set of watches, and the Apollo astronaut watches guide covers the earlier missions.
