Jerry Seinfeld's Watches: Heuer Autavia, Breitling and Rolex Daytona
Jerry Seinfeld's Watches: Heuer Autavia, Breitling and Rolex Daytona
Jerry Seinfeld is a watch person who says very little about watches. He posts little, and we found no interview in which he walks through a collection. What exists is a trail of on-screen sightings, a handful of reported statements and a few auction records. This guide sorts that trail by how well it is documented: a vintage Heuer Autavia 1163T he reportedly bought in 2005, a long association with Breitling , and a Rolex Daytona ref. 6239 seen on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in 2019 whose backstory is disputed.
The short answer
The best-documented watch is the Heuer Autavia 1163T “Siffert” , which Seinfeld reportedly said on Twitter he bought from an Italian seller; we could not open that post ourselves. His most consistent brand is Breitling , per Gear Patrol and Bob's Watches. The Rolex Daytona 6239 is reported, but its reference and its supposed link to a 1968 Daytona 24 Hours prize are uncertain. We did not find a Patek Philippe, a Rolex Submariner or a Hodinkee Talking Watches episode for him, so none appears here.

How we label the evidence
Confirmed means a costume designer, prop department, the brand or the show itself said so, or multiple reputable outlets agree and cite a source. Reported means a single reputable outlet or database reports it. Community-identified means fans identified it from screenshots in a cited community thread, which we flag as unverified. We leave out other fan speculation, and where sources disagree we say so. All prices are in US dollars and are indicative; check current listings before buying.
The personal vintage watch (Heuer Autavia)
This is the watch most tied to Seinfeld himself rather than to a role. Outlets report that he bought it in 2005 and that it appears in photos from 2007 and 2012. The “Siffert” name belongs to a type of Autavia, not to an edition made for him. It comes from Swiss driver Jo Siffert, who wore an Autavia 1163 with a white dial, black registers and a blue seconds hand, per a Phillips catalogue.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where it's documented | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heuer Autavia “Jo Siffert” (steel, Chronomatic automatic) | 1163T | Reported | Seinfeld reportedly confirmed on Twitter that he bought it from an Italian seller, and OnTheDash gives 2005. Photos include a 2007 HP commercial and a 2012 Comedians in Cars promo (dates inferred from photo filenames). Later photos appear to show a beads-of-rice bracelet. We did not open the post itself | Not his watch, comparables only: GBP 10,200 incl. premium for a circa 1974 1163T with “albino” hands (Bonhams London, December 14, 2022; about $12,400, our approximate conversion); CHF 68,750 for a 1163T Chronomatic “Siffert” (Phillips Geneva, November 11, 2017) |
The range between those two results is wide. Dial variant and condition drive it, and we found no current retail price. The Phillips date comes from OnTheDash, as the lot page does not state one. The CHF figure is the sale currency and is not converted.
Breitling, on and off screen (Chronomat, Navitimer, Aerospace)
Gear Patrol (May 11, 2021) calls him a Breitling collector and says he wears a different Breitling in nearly every Comedians in Cars episode. It gives no models and no interview source. Specific references come largely from Bob's Watches, which identified watches from footage, so most rows below are single-source.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where it's documented | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Breitling Chronomat (1990s steel, reverse-panda dial, Rouleaux bracelet) | Unconfirmed; 81950A or B13047 claimed | Uncertain | Bob's Watches says it was worn often in the sitcom Seinfeld. Man of Many (September 2022) says Hodinkee identified a ref. 81950A from season 6 as the spark for his interest in Breitling; we did not read the Hodinkee piece. The two accounts conflict, because the 81950A is typically two-tone | Not documented for his watch |
| Breitling Chronomat B01 42 with Rouleaux bracelet (Kith Fall 2022 modelling) | AB0134101B1A1 | Reported | Worn in Kith's Fall 2022 campaign per Man of Many. It is not a Breitling edition named for him | Current B01 42 steel line from $9,900; two-tone $13,900; gold $16,500 (Breitling US site, October 13, 2026) |
| Breitling Chronomat Automatic (18k yellow gold, 40 mm), donated to charity auction | 13050.1 | Confirmed | Antiquorum/Tourneau “Famous Faces, Watch Auction For Charity,” New York, February 24, 1999. The lot page credits the donation to Jerry Seinfeld and Breitling, but does not say he wore it | $11,000 hammer (retail $11,700; Antiquorum, February 24, 1999) |
| Breitling Navitimer (1990s steel, black leather strap) | Not stated | Reported | Bob's Watches says it appears in the sitcom, in promos and on Comedians in Cars. The Valjoux 7750 movement is that article's inference | Not documented |
| Breitling Aerospace EVO (titanium, white dial) | Not stated | Reported | Worn in his Netflix special 23 Hours to Kill, per Bob's Watches. The same article lists a Cosmonaute Black Steel, a Chronomat 44 B01 and a Chrono-Matic 49; we found no second source for them | Not documented |
None of these have a primary source from Seinfeld. The Antiquorum lot is the only row backed by an auction house.
The Rolex Daytona and the Porsche 907 (Rolex Cosmograph Daytona)
Gear Patrol and blogs describe it as the first time he wore a Rolex on Comedians in Cars. The backstory is a single-source tale about a race car, and the reference and provenance cannot be confirmed from what we read.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where it's documented | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex Cosmograph Daytona (steel, black dial, 1968, about 37 mm) | 6239 (not confirmed) | Uncertain | Seen in the episode with Barry Marder and Bev Moi, post dated July 20, 2019. The blogger describing it says he cannot confirm the reference with certainty. Bob's Watches calls it the Vic Elford watch, citing Spike Feresten secondhand | No sale; no auction result found. Bob's Watches speculates it could become a six-figure watch (opinion) |
Bob's Watches says the watch was Elford's prize for winning the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche 907 Langheck. According to that account, Seinfeld declined to add it to the car purchase for an extra $15,000 to $20,000, declined again at $50,000 a year later, and bought it after Feresten's urging, then had it restored with help from Ben Clymer using an era-correct acrylic crystal and tritium hands. We could not confirm any of this with Seinfeld, Clymer or Hodinkee. Man of Many (August 17, 2026) tells it differently: that Elford received the first Rolex Daytona given to an overall winner and that Seinfeld acquired it alongside the car.
Other sightings (G-Shock, Cartier, Breguet)
These are footage identifications or general mentions. We treat them as weaker evidence than the watches above.
| Watch | Reference | Evidence | Where it's documented | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Casio G-Shock Master of G Rangeman | GPRB1000-1 | Reported | Worn in the Zach Galifianakis episode per Bob's Watches. Gear Patrol also notes a G-Shock once | Not checked |
| Cartier Santos (steel) | Not stated | Community-identified | Seen in early Seinfeld episodes per Bob's Watches. Gear Patrol mentions only a general Cartier sighting | Not documented |
| Breguet Marine | 5817 | Uncertain | Bob's Watches says it “looks to be” the watch in the 2012 Alec Baldwin episode. This is an identification from footage, not confirmed | Not documented |
Gear Patrol also says he has been spotted with Heuer and Rolex watches beyond those above. Time+Tide (April 3, 2019) describes his taste as low-key and says he likes chronographs, with no models named.
Context: the car link and the 1999 auction
The Porsche connection. Siffert drove Porsches, which ties the Autavia to the Le Mans and 917 story told in our Le Mans guide. Seinfeld has not said that this is why he bought the watch, and we do not claim it. He is on record owning Porsche 917K chassis 022, the 1971 Le Mans film car once associated with Steve McQueen. Wikipedia says he acquired it in 2002.
The 907 Langheck. Gooding Christie's lists the 1968 Porsche 907 Langheck, chassis 907-005, as the first Porsche to win a 24-hour race outright, with a $4.5M to $5.5M estimate for Pebble Beach; the press page does not name Seinfeld. Man of Many says it sold in August 2026 as Lot 44 for $3,305,000, below the low estimate. That is a single-source figure and should be confirmed. His ten-year restoration was discussed on Spike's Car Radio on January 21, 2026, and that page does not mention a Rolex.
Who won Daytona? Sources conflict. The Bonhams lot text says Siffert won the 1968 race. Man of Many describes Elford as a primary driver with Siffert joining near the end. Other sources give a 1967 date for Elford's win. We therefore avoid naming a single winner, which also weakens the prize-watch story. Rolex winner's watches are dated to about 1991 and 1992 in a search summary we could not open, so a 1968 prize watch is unproven.
The shows. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee began on Crackle in 2012, moved to Netflix under a January 2017 deal and ran through 2019, with 72 episodes listed on Wikipedia. Most of the sightings above come from that series and from the sitcom. For the wider picture see our watches in TV shows and famous people watches guides, plus the Rolex, TAG Heuer and Cartier brand histories.

Only one of his watches has a current retail price we could verify, a modern Breitling of the same family. It is an editorial suggestion, not the 1990s watch seen on screen.
| Watch | Why it fits | Price (US) |
|---|---|---|
| Breitling Chronomat B01 42, steel (AB0158101 range) | The current Chronomat line, the model family most associated with him | $9,900 (Breitling US site, October 13, 2026) |
Myths and mix-ups, corrected
- “Seinfeld owns a Patek Philippe 3448.” We found no source linking him to that watch.
- “He has a Rolex Submariner.” None is documented. The Rolex we found is a Daytona.
- “The Autavia is a Seinfeld edition.” It is a vintage watch he reportedly bought. The Siffert name comes from Jo Siffert, and Heuer made no edition for him.
- “Hodinkee made a Talking Watches episode with him.” We found no evidence of one, so we do not cite it.
- “The Daytona was the 1968 Daytona winner's prize watch.” This rests on one secondhand account, and a second outlet tells a different version. The 1991 to 1992 start of Rolex winners' watches makes it doubtful.
- “His Chronomat is the 81950A.” Two sources disagree on the reference, so the exact model is unconfirmed.
