Suits Watches: What Harvey, Mike, Louis and Rachel Wore

Suits is known for its tailoring, but its watches are far less documented than fans assume. Harvey Specter's Patek Philippe is the one everyone cites, and the actor who played him has said Harvey wore a watch only about once. This guide goes character by character, labels how well each watch is documented, and keeps fan lore separate from what is actually on the record.

The short answer

No costume designer, prop master or brand has named any watch on Suits , so every model below is a watch-blog or fan identification, labelled Reported . The key first-hand facts: Gabriel Macht has said Harvey wore a watch only about once, around season 1, and that he doubts the Patek was real, and Meghan Markle bought her own engraved Cartier Tank Française. We found no sourced watch for Donna, Alex, Samantha, Katrina or Robert Zane, or anyone in Suits L.A. .

Who wears what: quick reference

Character (actor) Watches
Harvey Specter(Gabriel Macht) Patek Philippe perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph (platinum)
Mike Ross(Patrick J. Adams) Timex Atlantis 100 (digital, resin); Hamilton Jazzmaster Small Second (steel, automatic)
Louis Litt(Rick Hoffman) Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante Chronometer (alligator strap)
Jessica Pearson(Gina Torres) Cartier Tank Solo (Large), black alligator strap
Rachel Zane(Meghan Markle) Cartier Tank Française, two-tone steel and yellow gold
Donna, Alex, Samantha, Katrina and Robert Zane(Sarah Rafferty and others) No documented watch

How we label the evidence

Confirmed means a costume designer, prop department, the brand or the show itself said so, or multiple reputable outlets agree and cite a source. Reported means a single reputable outlet reports it. We leave out fan speculation, and where sources disagree we say so. All prices are in US dollars and are indicative; check current listings before buying.

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht)

Harvey is meant to be a man who expects the best without explaining why, which is why the Patek Philippe attributed to him fits so well. The twist is that, by the actor's own account, the show mostly dropped his watch because suits looked cleaner without one and quick costume changes made watch shots impractical.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Patek Philippe perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph (platinum) 5004P-021 Reported Season 1, episode 3 is cited as its first identifiable appearance. Macht says Harvey wore a watch about once, and he doubts the prop was real, because props had a small budget ~$350,000–$400,000 asking prices (undated); auction results from about $230,000 to $360,000 for related 5004 references

What Macht actually said. In a Time+Tide interview, Macht said Harvey wore a watch only once or so, around season 1, and that the show dropped them. That contradicts blog claims that Harvey wore the Patek across multiple seasons. Macht's own watches, which are not Harvey's, include a Breitling Superocean inherited from his father-in-law, a 1970s Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000, a pocket watch from Scarlett Johansson and a blue-faced Seiko. Other models sometimes assigned to Harvey (a Rolex Submariner, a Patek 5396G and a Datejust 41) come from single reader comments or one aggregator, and we do not list them.

Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams)

Mike's watches mirror his path from outsider to lawyer. He starts in a cheap digital Timex worn with the dial facing inward, which Adams has said began as an early character choice that stuck, then upgrades to a Hamilton as he earns legitimacy.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Timex Atlantis 100 (digital, resin) Atlantis 100 Reported Season 1 (some say the first two seasons), worn dial-inward on the inner wrist Under about $50–$100 (no verified current retail)
Hamilton Jazzmaster Small Second (steel, automatic) H38655185 per one source; others list a quartz H38411183 Reported Reported from season 4. Sources disagree on the exact reference and season, and he is said to return to the Timex when he leaves for the legal clinic ~$650–$1,075 (dealer lists, 2024 snapshots)

Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman)

Louis's watches are read as showy but knowing. The best-supported identification is an unusual Omega chronograph, though a budget Festina has also been suggested.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante Chronometer (alligator strap) 3540.50 Reported Season 2, per watch blogs with no on-record source. Introduced in 1999 ~$2,750–$4,500 pre-owned (undated)

Two other watches are sometimes named for Louis: a Festina Chrono Sport, which one blog author only said it appears to be, and an IWC Portugieser Chronograph from a single aggregator. They contradict each other, so we do not list them as fact.

Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres)

Cartier Tank Solo XL reference 3800
A Cartier Tank Solo, the model reported on Jessica Pearson (a Tank Solo XL shown). Photo: EMore98 (CC BY-SA 4.0), via Wikimedia Commons.

Jessica's watch is the classic one, as understated as her authority.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Cartier Tank Solo (Large), black alligator strap WSTA0016 per one aggregator; unconfirmed Reported No season or episode is documented. Sources disagree on whether it is gold or steel ~$2,950–$3,450 for a steel Tank Solo pre-owned; no current Cartier US price found

Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle)

Cartier Tank Francaise chronograph
A Cartier Tank Française (a quartz chronograph is shown). Rachel Zane's and Meghan Markle's watch is the two-tone model. Photo: EMore98 (CC BY-SA 4.0), via Wikimedia Commons.

Rachel's two-tone Cartier Tank Française is the best-documented watch connected to the show, though the documentation is about the actress rather than the character.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Cartier Tank Française, two-tone steel and yellow gold Small model; reference unconfirmed Reported Reported on screen from season 3. Markle bought her own two-tone Tank Française after learning the show was renewed for season 3, and had it engraved “To M.M. From M.M.” Steel from $4,450 (small quartz) and $5,700 (medium automatic); a two-tone medium listed at $7,900

Markle's purchase is well documented in a 2015 Hello! interview that other outlets repeat. That it is the watch worn on screen as Rachel is not: Hello! says a 2013 photo shows what looks like the watch, so we label the on-screen use as reported only.

Donna, Alex, Samantha, Katrina and Robert Zane (Sarah Rafferty and others)

We searched blog, forum and costume-designer sources and found no sourced watch for any of them. We also found nothing naming a watch for Ted Black, Harvey's cameo or Louis in Suits L.A. (2025), whose wardrobe coverage mentions suits but not watches.

Why so little is documented

Costume designer Jolie Andreatta's interviews cover tailoring (Harvey's suits are Tom Ford) but none mentions watches, and we found no product-placement deal for watches. Most identifications on the web trace back to a handful of blog posts that repeat one another, so agreement between them is not independent confirmation. We rely on actor statements where they exist.

The most discussed watch moments are Harvey's Patek in season 1 and Macht's admission that the show dropped watches, Mike's backward-worn Timex, Mike's Timex-to-Hamilton upgrade as a status signal, and Meghan Markle's engraved Cartier. For a related look at how a show uses watches deliberately, see our guides to Succession and James Bond watches.

Get the look for less

Real-world stand-ins for the watches the show is reported to use, with indicative US prices. These are editorial suggestions, not watches from the show.

Watch Why it fits Price (US)
Hamilton Jazzmaster Small Second Mike's reported later look ~$650–$1,075
Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante 3540.50 (pre-owned) The reported Louis watch ~$2,750–$4,500
Cartier Tank Française (steel) A steel take on Rachel's watch $4,450–$5,700 new

Myths and mix-ups, corrected

  • “Harvey wore the Patek for years.” Gabriel Macht says Harvey wore a watch only about once, around season 1.
  • “The Patek was a real watch.” Macht doubts it, given the props budget. An unsourced claim says it came from a private collector, which we cannot verify.
  • “Meghan Markle's Cartier is Rachel's on-screen watch.” Her purchase is documented. A 2013 photo only looks like the watch, and on-screen use is unconfirmed.
  • “Mike's Hamilton is a Thinline.” The reference most often cited is a 43mm automatic Jazzmaster Small Second, not a Thinline.
  • “Macht's Breitling is Harvey's watch.” It is Macht's own watch, inherited from his father-in-law.
