Mr. Robot Watches: Tyrell's Royal Oak and the Patek Tourbillon

Mr. Robot (USA Network, 2015 to 2019) is not a show about watches, and this is a short guide for that reason. The documented material is thin: one luxury watch on Tyrell Wellick , one line of dialogue about a Patek Philippe, and a single-source Casio on Whiterose . Elliot reportedly wears no watch at all. We list only what sources support and label how well each claim holds up.

The short answer

Tyrell wears an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak , but the exact reference is disputed. In season 1, rival Scott Knowles answers Tyrell's “Is that a Vacheron?” with “Patek Philippe Tourbillon.” We found no costume-department statement about any watch, and no brand tie-in or plot-driving watch.

Who wears what: quick reference

Character (actor) Watches
Tyrell Wellick(Martin Wallstrom) Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (41 mm steel, black dial)
Scott Knowles(Brian Stokes Mitchell) Patek Philippe Tourbillon (Sky Moon per one outlet)
Whiterose(BD Wong) Casio Data Bank (F-91W family)
Elliot Alderson(Rami Malek) No documented watch

How we label the evidence

Confirmed means a costume designer, prop department, the brand or the show itself said so, or multiple reputable outlets agree and cite a source. Reported means a single reputable outlet or database reports it. We leave out other fan speculation, and where sources disagree we say so. All prices are in US dollars and are indicative; check current listings before buying.

Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom)

Tyrell is the show's ambitious executive, and he is the only character with a documented luxury watch. Oracle of Time notes it is Tyrell, not Elliot, who wears the expensive pieces, and calls his Royal Oak “bigger, bolder and far more modern” than the watch he is compared with. Whether that was a deliberate costume choice is not stated in any source we could read.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (41 mm steel, black dial) Not established; 14700ST or 15400ST suggested Reported Visible on his wrist while he prepares a speech for E Corp's CEO as interim CTO. Oracle of Time and Brands & Films agree on the model; WatchRanker offers the 14700ST as the “closest match,” while a Spotern user spot lists the 15400ST 15400ST: $26,300 retail (undated) and ~$35,368 market value (Loupe, October 14, 2026)

Scott Knowles (Brian Stokes Mitchell)

Knowles is the rival who gets the job Tyrell wanted. The watch exchange between them is the best-known watch moment in the show.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Patek Philippe Tourbillon (Sky Moon per one outlet) Sky Moon “6002” per WatchRanker; not confirmed Reported Sixth episode, in a conference-room meeting. Tyrell asks, “Is that a Vacheron?” and Knowles replies, “Patek Philippe Tourbillon.” The spoken words are on record; the Sky Moon identification comes from one source A pink-gold Sky Moon Tourbillon ref. 5002 sold for $1,240,400 at Antiquorum, New York, in June 2007

Whiterose (BD Wong)

The one lower-priced watch on the list, from a single source.

Watch Reference Evidence Where you see it Price (US)
Casio Data Bank (F-91W family) F91WM-9A linked; not confirmed Uncertain WatchRanker lists it with no scene or episode. We found no second source F-91W variants listed at $21.92 to $30.76 (WatchRanker, undated)

Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek)

Two sources say Elliot does not wear a watch, which fits a character who wears the same hoodie. We could not check every episode, so read this as reported rather than proven.

Watches in the story

We found no stolen, gifted or plot-driving watch in the sources we could read. The one watch moment is dialogue between two characters.

Watch Reference Evidence In the story Price (US)
Knowles's Patek and Tyrell's Vacheron guess Not established Reported Sixth episode. Fans have read the exchange as a ranking of old and new money, with Tyrell assuming Knowles wore a Vacheron. That reading is a fan theory, not a statement from the production —

A Mr. Robot fan wiki entry reportedly says Knowles offers the watch to Tyrell. We could not open that page, so we have not treated it as fact.

Why the watches are so sparse

The show's costume work is documented mainly for the hackers. Kim Wilcox and Catherine Marie Thomas are credited with Darlene's look, described as secondhand grunge rather than sci-fi or punk. We found no interview in which a costume designer discusses Tyrell's watches, so we cannot say how they were chosen.

For a show where watches carry far more of the story, see our guide to Succession.

Get the look for less

Real-world watches in the same spirit, with indicative US prices. These are editorial suggestions, not watches from the show.

Watch Why it fits Price (US)
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15400ST (pre-owned) The 41 mm steel Royal Oak suggested for Tyrell ~$35,368 market value (Loupe, October 14, 2026)
Casio F-91W The reported watch for Whiterose ~$22 to $31 (variant listings, undated)

Myths and mix-ups, corrected

  • “Elliot wears a luxury watch.” Two sources say he wears none.
  • “Knowles's watch is a Sky Moon 6002.” On screen he says only “Patek Philippe Tourbillon.” The Sky Moon and 6002 come from one watch site.
  • “Tyrell's Royal Oak is an Offshore.” No show source says Offshore. Sources name a 41 mm steel Royal Oak, with 14700ST and 15400ST both suggested.
  • “The show made the Vacheron-versus-Patek ranking deliberate.” That is a fan theory. No production source says so.

Every watch identification is from a single watch site or user database, and prices are indicative US-dollar figures retrieved on October 14, 2026.
