Marty Supreme (A24, directed by Josh Safdie) opened on Christmas Day 2025 and reached HBO Max on April 24, 2026. Its watch story is small but well chosen. The hero wears a modest vintage American dress watch, not a luxury piece, and the film's wealthy businessman wears two vintage watches at once. This guide separates what is reported about those screen watches from the watches Timothée Chalamet wore on the press tour, because the two are easily confused. No production statement from the studio, costume designer or property master was available to us, so most identifications below are marked reported, not confirmed.

The short answer

Marty Mauser (Chalamet) wears a vintage Elgin tonneau dress watch, most likely a ref. 6728A , according to several outlets. That reference is an enthusiast identification, not a production credit. Milton Rockwell (Kevin O'Leary) wears a 1950s Patek Philippe and a 1952 Seiko on opposite wrists, per Fortune. Chalamet's Urban Jürgensen watches belong to awards season, not the film.

Who wears what: quick reference

Character (actor) Watches
Marty Mauser(Timothée Chalamet) Elgin tonneau dress watch, vintage
Milton Rockwell(Kevin O'Leary) Patek Philippe, 1950s, model not identified; Seiko "Super", 1952
Real world, not in the film: the press tour(Timothée Chalamet) Urban Jürgensen UJ-1, rose gold; Urban Jürgensen UJ-2, platinum; Simon Brette Chronomètre Artisans; Petermann Bédat; Akrivia (suspected)

How we label the evidence

Confirmed means a costume designer, prop department, the brand or the show itself said so, or multiple reputable outlets agree and cite a source. Reported means a single reputable outlet or database reports it. We leave out other fan speculation, and where sources disagree we say so. All prices are in US dollars and are indicative; check current listings before buying.

Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet)

Marty is a young table-tennis hustler in 1950s New York, so the watch reads as aspirational, not rich. IMWDb and Something About Rocks (March 11, 2026) report that property master Michael Jortner gathered about fifteen vintage candidates and that he and costume designer Miyako Bellizzi settled on the Elgin. We found no statement from either of them, from A24 or from Elgin, so the choice is second-hand.

Watch Reference Evidence Where it's documented Price (US)
Elgin tonneau dress watch, vintage Likely 6728A (unconfirmed) Reported Hand-wound, tonneau case, late 1940s to 1950s. IMWDb says the reference is unconfirmed against a case back or archival record. Something About Rocks states 6728A without hedging, while Rotate Watches (March 23, 2026) says likely, and JFK (February 23, 2026) gives 6728A from the 1950s Not applicable to the prop. JFK cites one comparable vintage listing on Chrono24 at about $295, undated, so indicative only

Sources disagree on details. The case is described as 10k gold (IMWDb, Something About Rocks), 10k gold fill (Rotate) and gold-plated (JFK). The date is given as 1949 to 1951 (Rotate) or about 1955 for a comparable (JFK). JFK describes a light grey dial with gold Arabic numerals and a small seconds sub-dial at six, and says the watch is shown in full in one shot. We could not check this against the film. Elgin ceased production in 1968 (IMWDb).

Milton Rockwell (Kevin O'Leary)

O'Leary plays Rockwell, a wealthy businessman. Fortune (January 6, 2026) reports Rockwell wears one watch set to New York time and one to Tokyo time, that O'Leary chose them himself, and that he refused to wear a prop watch or one he did not own.

Watch Reference Evidence Where it's documented Price (US)
Patek Philippe, 1950s, model not identified Not stated Reported Fortune: obtained after O'Leary called Rolex, bought "at a crazy price". IMWDb, citing Montres de Luxe, describes an hourglass-style case, says the model cannot be read from the brief screen time, and that it is probably O'Leary's own Not disclosed
Seiko "Super", 1952 Not stated Reported Fortune: Seiko found a 1952 example and gifted it to O'Leary, who told the New York Times it might have come from a museum. IMWDb, citing Montres de Luxe, calls it a 1950s Seiko Super and lists it as unidentified Gifted, per Fortune

Something About Rocks describes the second watch as a Grand Seiko from the company's museum archives. Fortune and IMWDb say Seiko, not Grand Seiko, so we follow them and flag the difference. O'Leary is a living person and the watches are described as his own, so we state only what the outlets report.

Real world, not in the film: the press tour (Timothée Chalamet)

Highsnobiety (undated; its page shows only "8 months ago") lists the watches Chalamet wore around the film. None of this is screen wardrobe. Every item rests on that one article, with Rotate Watches (March 23, 2026) partly overlapping it.

Watch Reference Evidence Where it's documented Price (US)
Urban Jürgensen UJ-1, rose gold UJ-1 Reported Highsnobiety places it at the Los Angeles premiere. Rotate Watches says the New York premiere. We could not resolve this Not given
Urban Jürgensen UJ-2, platinum UJ-2 Reported Golden Globes (Highsnobiety); Rotate also lists the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards Rotate gives roughly $130,000, a single-source figure we have not verified
Simon Brette Chronomètre Artisans Not stated Reported Worn on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (Highsnobiety, Rotate) Not given
Petermann Bédat; Akrivia (suspected) Not stated Uncertain Highsnobiety lists Petermann Bédat at the AFI Awards luncheon and only a suspected Akrivia at the Critics Choice Awards Not given

These are one writer's identifications of off-screen outfits. Dates and some events are missing from the article, so they are not a complete or dated record.

Why an Elgin, and who made the film's costumes

Elgin was an American maker founded in Illinois in 1864, and by the 1950s it competed with Swiss imports. Rotate Watches argues a modest gold-cased Elgin signals department-store aspiration, which fits a hustler who is not yet wealthy, and that a Patek or Rolex would have been wrong for him. That is an interpretation, not a production note. Rockwell's Patek is the contrast.

Costume designer Miyako Bellizzi's credits include Good Time (2017), Uncut Gems (2019), Next Goal Wins (2023) and Marty Supreme, per Wikipedia. Press coverage reports she was nominated for the Best Costume Design Oscar for the film, which went to Frankenstein at the March 15, 2026 ceremony. For her earlier Safdie collaboration, see Uncut Gems watches. We found no direct watch link between the two films.

Myths and mix-ups, corrected

  • “The film watch is a confirmed Elgin 6728A.” The reference is an enthusiast identification. IMWDb says it is unconfirmed, and we found no production statement.
  • “Chalamet's Urban Jürgensen is Marty's watch.” It was worn on the press tour and at awards events. The film watch is the vintage Elgin.
  • “The second watch on Rockwell is a Grand Seiko.” One outlet says so. Fortune and IMWDb say Seiko, 1952 "Super".
  • “The props department supplied all the watches.” Fortune reports O'Leary chose and supplied his own for Rockwell.
